Enrico Finazzi Agrò was born in Rome (Italy), on July 27th 1968. After secondary school he started his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of “Tor Vergata” University. He got graduation, with full mark, in the month of July of 1993. Five years later he got specialisation in Urology, with full mark. In the month of November of 1998 took the role of Assistant Professor in the department of Urology at University of Roma “Tor Vergata”. In October 2005 he took the role of Associate Professor at the same University; now he is responsible of the functional urology unit of the Policlinico Tor Vergata University Hospital. He is also responsible of the neuro-urology unit of “S. Lucia” Rehabilitation Hospital in Rome. His fields of scientific interest are neuro-urology, urodynamics, diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and cervico-urethral obstruction, prostate cancer and andrology.
He is author of several papers on indexed journals. He has been reviewer for Eur Urol, Neurourol Urodyn, J Urol, Int Urogynecol J and several other indexed Journals sice several years. He is member of the Editorial Board of Neurourol Urodyn and BMC Urology. He has participated to national and international congresses and courses, several times presenting original papers.
He is a member of Italian Urology Society (SIU) and of Italian Urodynamics Society (SIUD) since 1993; he is also member of European Association of Urology (EAU) and International Continence Society (ICS). He has been vice-president and president elected of the Italian Urodynamics Society since 2012 (will become president in 2015) and member of the editorial board of the Italian Urology Society (Jan 2011 – Jan 2014); furthermore, he has been member of the Neuro-Urology Promotion Committee and of the Urodynamics Committee of the International Continence Society since 2011.
Laureato con lode in Medicina e Chirurgia nel 1993 presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma “ Tor Vergata”; è specialista in Urologia dal 1998.
Nel novembre 1998 prende servizio come ricercatore della Cattedra di Urologia presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata. Viene quindi strutturato per l’attività assistenziale presso il Policlinico Tor Vergata. Nell’ottobre 2005 prende servizio come professore associato, presso la stessa Università. Consegue, nell’agosto 2008, incarico di Dirigente dell’Unità Operativa Semplice Dipartimentale (UOSD) Servizio di Urologia funzionale e chirurgia urologica miniinvasiva, afferente al Dipartimento di Chirurgia del Policlinico Tor Vergata. È inoltre responsabile clinico, dal 1998, del Servizio di Neuro-Urologia della Fondazione “S. Lucia”; è stato consulente neuro-urologo del Centro Paraplegici Ostia “Gennaro Di Rosa” dal gennaio 2012 al dicembre 2013. È consulente urologo del comando generale della Guardia di Finanza in Roma dal 2006.
È titolare di insegnamenti presso il corso di Laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia, le scuole di specializzazione in Urologia e in Medicina Fisica e Riabilitazione, la Laurea breve per Scienze Infermieristiche e per Terapisti della Riabilitazione dell’Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”.
I suoi campi di interesse scientifico sono la neurourologia, l’urodinamica, la diagnosi ed il trattamento dell’incontinenza urinaria e dell’ostruzione cervico-uretrale, il tumore della prostata.
È socio della Società Italiana di Urologia (di cui è stato membro del comitato editoriale dal 2003 al 2005, del comitato qualità ed etica dal 2006 al 2009 e responsabile della rivista della Società “Futuro” dal 2009 al 2013) e della Società Italiana di Urodinamica dal 1994 (di cui è stato consigliere dal 2003 ed è attualmente vicepresidente); è anche socio della European Association of Urology dal 1999 e dell’International Continence Society dal 2001. E’ reviewer per European Urology, Journal of Urology; è membro dell’Editorial Board di Neurourology and Urodynamics e di BMC Urology. È inoltre autore di più di 50 lavori citati su PubMed.
